The Law Reform Team works to ensure that legislative changes and policy developments in New Zealand are more reflective of the wider community.

Current Projects

  1. Research and Submissions:

    Submit on a variety of bills to Parliamentary select committees.

  2. Adoption Action:

    A subteam that focuses upon law reform issues related to adoption and surrogacy law in cooperation with our stakeholder organisation, Adoption Action Inc.

  3. LexGuide:

    Works with LexisNexis, our stakeholder organisation to write publicly accessible guidance modules on areas of law that are beneficial to the wider community, such as housing, welfare, and alternative dispute resolutions.

  4. Green Team:

    Our environmental and climate-focused subteam, and has worked on several different environmental and law-reform issues with Aotearoa.

  5. The Editing Subteam:

    Helps proofread and edit work done by our other subteams, ensuring that their work is to a high standard and is compliant with the New Zealand Law Style Guide.
